Monkeys With Human Ears!

There are plenty of things to ponder in life. We can think about where we want to be in 10 years, or how we can make a difference in the world, or even silly things like what new movie we want to see, but have you thought about experiments on monkeys that give them a few human characteristics?
Should we inject human cells into the brains of monkeys? Is it ethical? This is a question being raised right now by scientists. Where should we draw the line? I loved hearing your thoughts on this today. Here is the article on Fox News if you want to read it:

Today was your final project! I was very impressed! The creativity was amazing. Do you feel relieved having that behind you?

You all did a great job! I hope you became and "expert" in your topic and had at least a little fun researching it. I had fun looking at what you discovered and created on your boards.

Next week is our LAST class! Let's party! I will have food and games next week to celebrate surviving a year of World History. I loved spending the year with all of you and getting to know your thoughts about history and current events. You all brought a unique perspective on things and a little silliness too. I will miss that! I will also miss the conversations I had with you and getting to know you all personally. I truly like each one of you individually. I really will miss you guys.

Homework:
1. Finish your 15 question test on Units 24-29 for next week. Please email them to me by Friday!!!!!

Just 3 Classes Left!

We are on the countdown my friends! We only have 3 classes left! Are you excited? I am, but I will miss you all so much too. Next week is our last class before Easter break, so we will be having a little party with a history based activity.
This week is your last week with official homework. Yay! After that, you just need to work on your projects which are due on Aril 30th. Easy peasy!

Homework:
1. Read Unit 28
2. Create a brochure for Africa. You can choose any country or area in Africa to create a brochure for. It must include things that will draw people to our area. Things like weather, activities, lodging, historical facts, wildlife, food, and customs should be included. It can be small information about each item. Remember the goal is to get people to visit your area. Here are a few ideas:

Be as creative as you want. You can do it on the computer or hand draw it. Make me want to visit your area:)

*Don't leave working on your project until the last minute. Start making a plan for how you want it to look.

Project guidelines:
Here is a list of the things you need to include on your project:
1. Historical facts about your topic
2. Locations of main events or country involved (map)
3. Famous or influential people in your topic or event
4. Any significant impact that was made
5. Important facts, such as, religion of the area, customs, food if applicable, people, etc...
